Herd management
Dairy herd management software
Every animal, every event, from first breath to final disposal — with cattle and buffalo modelled as the different animals they are.
Detail
What it records
Animal registry
Tag, RFID, name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, dam and sire, source, purchase price, current status, shed, photo. Pedigree displayed three generations deep as a visual family tree.
Lifecycle states
Calf → heifer → bred heifer → lactating → dry → culled, sold or died. Transitions are event-driven: a calving opens a lactation, a dry-off closes one. Nobody sets a status by hand and gets it wrong.
Location history
Every shed and group move is an auditable event with a timestamp and an actor, not an overwritten field.
Weights & condition
Weight recording with average daily gain, and body condition scoring on a 1–5 scale with trend.
Bulk import
Excel or CSV with a downloadable template, a validation preview and per-row error reporting before anything is committed.
Know Your Animal
One screen: identity, current status, lactation summary, the last five events across every module, open alerts, and lifetime cost against lifetime revenue.
Disposal
Culling and sale records with a controlled reason list — reproduction, mastitis, low production, lameness, age, injury — so culling analysis is possible rather than anecdotal.
